What it is

Glutathione is a small molecule built from three amino acids: cysteine, glycine, and glutamic acid. Your body makes it in every cell, with the highest concentrations in the liver, and uses it as the first line of defense against oxidative stress. It also sits at the center of your detoxification machinery, binding to heavy metals, drug byproducts, and other harmful compounds so they can be dissolved in water and excreted. How it works

Glutathione works through two main routes. As an antioxidant, it directly neutralizes reactive oxygen species and regenerates other antioxidants your body relies on, including vitamins C and E. The reason this is an injection rather than a capsule is simple chemistry: taken orally, most glutathione is dismantled by digestive enzymes before it reaches your blood. What the research shows

The molecule itself is among the most studied in biochemistry, and its role in antioxidant defense and liver detoxification is settled science. The evidence for injecting it in healthy adults is a different matter, and we will be straight with you about it. Injections demonstrably raise circulating glutathione levels. What has not been established in rigorous trials is that this translates into measurable improvements in energy, skin, detoxification, or aging outcomes for healthy people; the studies that exist are small, short, and mixed. The popular skin-brightening claim rests on a plausible mechanism but weak clinical data. What to expect

Your clinician will set your protocol, typically one to three intramuscular or subcutaneous injections per week.
